This was an interesting experience because of how different it was from anything I'd ever done before (or since). The purpose of a simulation is to be as accurate as possible and this often comes at the expense of decisions that you would often make as a designer in order to make the game more entertaining. I found that the strongest tool at my disposal for this purpose was research. I spent weeks researching psychological concepts and adapting them into mechanics for the simulation.
